Customer Profile:

WPCOG’s primary customers are the local governments in the Greater Hickory Metro region.

Within the context of economic development services, typical customers would include existing or prospective business owners, developers and local government economic development officials.

Primary Services:

Services related to economic development include the provision and analysis of demographic and economic growth data, transportation plans and maps, and special studies.  Fees may apply for the services provided.

            

ACCOUNTABILITY

Funding source(s): WPCOG receives funds from Hickory Metro governments as well as a variety of federal and state agencies in support of specific activities.  WPCOG is accountable to each funding agency in respect to the specific requirements for funded activities.

Other parties to which organization may be accountable: WPCOG is governed by a Policy Board and Executive Committee, made up of local elected officials representing the member local governments.  Ultimately, WPCOG is directly accountable to each of its member local governments.

Organization’s objectives for serving the business community:

WPCOG is an adjunct to its member local governments.  In relation to the business community, WPCOG assists member local governments in promoting business growth and development.
