Caldwell Community College Small Business Center

Western Piedmont Community College Small Business Center

The Catawba Valley is served by 3 of the fifty-eight community colleges in North Carolina and each school has a small business center that is focused on helping small businesses. A variety of seminars are offered, including "How to Start a Business", "How to Market Your Business", and "What You Need to Know Legally about Your Small Business".  Most seminars cost $5.00.

Small Business Technology and Development Center

The SBTDC, a business development service of the University of North Carolina, offers education programs for existing business owners to improve their business management skills.

Hickory Public Library

HPL offers many resources for lifelong learning without a classroom.  Check out the Career Enhancement Center to find materials about business and management.

U.S. Small Business Administration

The SBA offers several exciting on-line courses (no charge) for starting and early stage operation of a business.
