BUSINESS INFORMATION

Customer Profile:

Business owners across industry segments (manufacturing, service, wholesale, retail).  Also provide assistance in the start-up and early-stage planning for entrepreneurs.

Primary Services:

This university-based resource links North Carolina’s institutions of higher learning with the business community.  SBTDC provides in-depth, one-on-one, confidential counseling in areas of finance, operations, marketing, feasibility assessment, strategic planning, capital formation and other business management areas.

Other Services:

Specialized services are provided through the SBTDC’s Procurement Technical Assistance (comprehensive assistance in selling to federal, state, and local government institutions), International Business Development, Technology Development and Commercialization, Marine Trades, and Market Research.

Organization’s objectives for serving the business community:

To support the growth and development of North Carolina’s economy by encouraging entrepreneurship, assisting in the creation and expansion of small and medium-sized businesses, and facilitating technology development and transfer. Goals include annual strategic planning milestones identifying outreach demographic and industry segment targets, staff contribution levels, client engagement benchmarks, geographic service distribution.
