BUSINESS INFORMATION

Customer Profile:

The Catawba County Chamber of Commerce is a business association of over 1300 members. The Chamber’s mission is to help their members’ businesses succeed.

Primary Services:

The Chamber’s membership and staff have identified a number of key areas essential to the long-term growth and prosperity of our community. These program areas are:

Other Services:

The new Chamber facility offers a state-of-the-art video conferencing center, computer training classes, and meeting rooms for members. The Chamber also operates as a designated “North Carolina Visitor Information Center” and is open 360 days per year.

Accountability

Funding Source(s):

The Chamber is funded primarily through membership dues. Additional income is gained through events conducted by the Chamber (i.e., annual golf tournament) and sponsorships of programs, councils, seminars, luncheons and other events held regularly.

Organization’s objectives for serving the business community:

The Chamber distinguishes itself with an action-oriented philosophy designed to produce positive, measurable improvements throughout our community. We are motivated by a profound responsibility to create a strong business environment, which in turn increases our overall quality of life.

The method(s) that objectives are measured:

An annual “planning conference” is held each fall; the outcome is a  “program of work” for the following calendar year. Accomplishment of the “program of work” is measured monthly through the Chamber staff, Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

The Chamber has been reaccredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for 25 years, indicating that the Chamber has advanced the county’s business interests with the highest standards of planning, performance and results.
